Welsh + Major, Greenway award winners in 2009, have to date produced a series of elegant, smaller scale works that compress space and sculpt light. Enriched by an interplay between new and existing fabric, and adoption of less celebrated materials, the firm promotes a quietly reactive design dialogue within our built environment. David Welsh and Chris Major will present a series of ideas generated around specific interests, including totally unauthorised proposals for the redesign of Barangaroo South and the renewal of the Harold Park tramsheds, the use of Minecraft as a design tool, and a scattering of more modest propositions, both built and unbuilt.
